It's the Day's Day of Days! Because seltzer.
Mari looks positively grotesque in that last panel. Both of them are sloppily done, mind you, but that pose... *shudders*
A day by day look at Chris Muir's Day By Day, punctuated by efforts to make the hurting stop.

Her shoulders and elbows are all in the wrong places. Eesh.
ReplyDeleteBut honestly my disgust is more roused by the loathsome smug expression used for Kiko. It’s one of the very worst of Muir’s stock faces, so of course he uses it probably the most — on all three Owens women.
And it’s fourth WALL, you idjit. Not panel.
I have to admit larryarnold’s comment made me chuckle, though.
The "Smug Sam/Samclone" face is fairly loathsome, but largely because of associations--it is what Sam (or her various lookalikes) frequently use when they're being self-righteous blowhard jackasses. It's bad, but not brain-meltingly bad. But as you said, he keeps using it over and over, frequently to have his little fascist fantasy girls make a bigoted evil punchline. And so it becomes fingernails on the chalkboard.
DeleteAs for the comment, "Futurama" did it better.
