You know, Muir and I are both baffled by the going-ons of his fundraiser this year. The difference is I know I am, while Muir clearly thinks he's more or less got a handle on things.
And once again, I don’t understand the punchline. 🙄😑

DeleteI get the "we need every penny" part (blecchh) but what's the "crud! everyone outta the pool" thing about? Or is there no punchline there?

DeleteI think the idea here is Sam is signaling the fund drive is over and this corresponds with their pool time being over. But, well, yeah, it's weird, and clumsy as hell. As I noted, Muir's been slipping from even his low standards of late, so things get very clumsily handled.
