Misogyny Is The Answer To Everything.

It's the Day's Day of Days! Because neat, sweet, petite.

We are reaching 'dissolve the electorate and install a new one' suggestions in this strip.

  1. Rabid, rampaging misogyny aside, that's actually correct about the roots of the word "hysteria". I learned that to my surprise at a peculiar yet fascinating little establishment in Provincetown, Massachusetts called Toys of Eros, which contains a little "museum" section called The History of Sex.

Actually, when you read a lot of the plaques and historical information they have on display, you kind of start to wonder how human women throughout the centuries managed to not go completely insane by the age of 25.

    1. Sure, the facts are right (and readily available from a variety of sources), but declaring that this is the wisdom of the ages is the point of the strip. Instead of realizing, man, the Greeks were sexist shits.

    2. If only it WERE just the Greeks.
What's so striking when just casually perusing (relatively) recent western history is how female sexuality --- ANY manifestation of female sexuality --- was not merely shamed and stigmatized, but often diagnosed by medical professionals of the day as maladies, diseases or mental illnesses, and at times even outright criminalized.
It is dizzyingly surreal to reflect that the same actions that could land a girl or woman in a mental institution or prison are now the things women unthinkingly laugh and joke about, make entire comedy videos about, and drop in casual conversation.

If there is one near-constant throughout recorded history, it's men's abject terror of female sexuality and their desperately brutal attempts to quash it.
Where this comes from in the male lizard brain I do not know, but it sure unites men across all cultures and continents.

      Kumbayah....?
