When Muir has his cast give these bigoted brittle speeches, which highlight not only his racism and his amorality, but the cowardice that imagines its courage that underpins it all, I'm reminded of the saying that libertarians are rather like house cats--creatures that fancy themselves independent but are actually utterly dependent on systems they don't understand to survive.
