It's the Day's Day of Days! Because Gryphon in Glory.
Remember, the Right are glorious rebellious free men fighting against authoritarian drones jealous of their natural superior freedom. And they are also the dutiful followers of the true tradition facing the decadent degenerates rebelling against the natural order.
Look the important thing is they are whatever makes them feel better at a given moment about following the half-baked mess of poorly-handled notions they imagine is philosophy.
For a second there, I thought Kiko's belly was talking and the baby within was already being a little asshole (which, to be fair, would not be surprising). As always, this strip gets a little confusing.
ReplyDeleteWho is Sam even referring to in the first two panels? Or is it even a specific individual at all, as opposed to some symbolic figure? Hell if I know.
ReplyDeleteAs usual, Kiko and Mari's dialect varies all over the place. Here Kiko says "Im'a", which as far as I know does not fit into any of the quasi-redneck dialects Muir has been putting into her mouth the past couple of years ---- in between occasional relapses of what I call "golly-gee 1930s comic strip kid" talk. (Which was awkward enough to read on its own, but coming out of the mouths of what were supposed to be girls in their late teens, was downright unsettling.)
Hey, Muir. It's "Aunt", not "Ant", you idiot.
Yeah, I kind of assume it's supposed to be symbolic of Democratic/Leftist leadership, in another sustained 'Youse da real racists' bit.
DeleteMuir explains in the comments that the enemy he speaks of is "every white prog out there."
DeleteAlso, Muir approvingly quoting George Carlin is too much for my brain circuits to take.
ReplyDeleteI don't even like Carlin, but people like Muir would have made him sick.
He hears the joke, but he doesn't get the joke, because he doesn't realize he's not the bold individualist he imagines himself to be.
