"Nudity Can Surely Save This Plotline!"

It's the Day's Day of Days!  Because penny black.

At times like this, the strange joylessness of Muir's attempts at softcore shine through.  Or more exactly, plunge everything into a more dismal murk.

  1. It's funny----there's an inherent cynicism in pretty much any use of T&A in media, since after all its an appeal to the part of the brain that's pure instinct, and thus the most impulsive and compulsive. And tickling those impulses is good for biznizz.

But Muir's use of T&A manages to be cynical in a far deeper and profoundly more egregious way. Somehow, even trashy softcore '80s teen comedies seem more innocent and goodhearted than modern DBD.

(Uh, not that I'd be able to compare firsthand, of course. My friend told me. Yeah. That's the ticket...)
