So not only does he not realize quite the extent to which he's flipped the cartoon's original meaning, he doesn't realize that he hasn't actually changed it enough, so that the drawing suggests the opposite of what he has the caption say.
That tracks.
Also, he's done this one before, in a slightly different way. Ahhhh, we've reached the point where he is truly repeating himself over and over.
